A Winter Wonderland Wedding: Olivia & Elijah’s Elegant December Celebration

Winter weddings hold a unique charm — the quiet beauty of the season, the crisp air, the twinkling lights, and the promise of new beginnings. When Olivia and Elijah reached out to me about photographing their December wedding, I knew it was going to be a day filled with elegance, personal touches, and unforgettable moments. From their stunning vintage bridal suite to their picture-perfect portraits at the Rhode Island State House, every detail of their day was thoughtfully planned. Here’s a glimpse into their beautiful winter wedding.

The Getting Ready Location: A Vintage Dream

One of the first things Olivia told me during our pre-wedding chats was how important it was to her that every aspect of her wedding day be picture-perfect. And she wasn’t kidding! Olivia's passion for picture perfect locations and her attention to detail really showed in the beautiful getting-ready location she chose: a stunning Airbnb in Providence. The space was a vintage lover’s dream, with intricate details and a bridal suite that felt like something out of a fairy tale.

The room had a soft, romantic atmosphere, with vintage wallpaper, large windows letting in natural light, and rich, cozy furniture. As soon as I walked in, I knew this was going to be the perfect setting for capturing Olivia’s final moments before slipping into her gown. The soft glow of the suite and the vintage elements created a timeless backdrop for her pre-wedding photos. Every moment of Olivia getting ready — from putting on her dress to those candid, quiet moments with her bridesmaids — was beautifully framed in this enchanting space.

The Portraits: Rhode Island State House Magic

After the intimate getting-ready shots, it was time to head to the Rhode Island State House for Olivia and Elijah’s portraits. Known for its stunning architecture, the State House was the perfect location for their photos. And since it was December, the building was decked out in its holiday finest, complete with twinkling Christmas decorations and a festive atmosphere that made the portraits even more magical.

The striking white marble, the grand staircases, and the ornate columns provided a stunning contrast to the soft elegance of Olivia’s gown. Every angle seemed to offer a new and breathtaking backdrop. And Elijah’s cool, calm demeanor was the perfect counterpart to Olivia’s radiant presence. As a photographer, it was such a joy to capture their love against the grandeur of this historic building,

The Venue: A Modern, Elegant Reception

After the portraits, we moved on to the reception, which was hosted at a beautifully modern venue that had a sleek, open feel. The space was vast, with clean lines and a black-and-white theme that exuded elegance and sophistication. It was minimal yet full of character, with modern light fixtures and chic decor, making it feel both contemporary and timeless.

The black-and-white theme was carried throughout the evening — from the linens to the candles and even the elegant floral arrangements. The monochrome color palette gave the space a modern edge, while the delicate details softened it, creating a sense of balance between the bold and the beautiful. The space itself was perfect for Olivia and Elijah’s celebration: chic, polished, and effortlessly stylish.

A Day to Remember

From Olivia’s stunning bridal suite to the grand portraits at the Rhode Island State House and the chic elegance of the reception venue, every detail of this wedding felt carefully curated and perfectly executed. It was a day filled with beauty, love, and timeless moments — the kind of wedding that you can look back on for years and still feel the magic.

Olivia and Elijah’s winter wedding was a true reflection of their personalities — thoughtful, elegant, and filled with love. As a photographer, it was a joy to capture their memories, and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of such an unforgettable celebration. Wishing them a lifetime of love, laughter, and more beautiful moments to come.
